(26.04.2012) As your class brothers/sisters in Turkey who are aware of your sufferings under the oppression of the Mullah regime which is an enemy of the working class, we keep on our solidarity campaign “Stop Repression of Iranian Working Class!”. We will also raise your cry in the May Day demonstrations in Turkey.
(13.04.2012) Trade unionists, intellectuals, artists, academics and representatives of those parties and associations symphatetic to labour cause keep offering their support to the campaign in defense of Iranian workers launched by the Association of International Workers' Solidarity (UID-DER).
(29.03.2012) 32 years ago Turkey woke up to a dark September morning. On 12 September 1980 the military junta seized power in a fascist coup. During the period of fascism that lasted 3 years all political parties, associations, workers’ organisations were closed, union activities were stopped, DISK (Confederation of Revolutionary Workers’ Unions) was closed, union leaders and officials were put on trial.
(28.03.2012) Dear all friends of UID-DER, Your signatures of about 15,000 were passed on through Fukushima mothers for their perusal and finally submitted to the Cabinet Office addressed to the Prime minister NODA together with our signatures on March 26.
(26.03.2012) The Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Plant is still dumping huge amounts of radioactive material daily, without exact knowledge of the whereabouts of the melt-down fuels. TEPCO and Japanese government are only cooling all stricken reactors by water, the result being a large amount of contaminated cooling water which is continuously leaking into the Pacific Ocean.
(18.03.2012) The petition campaign “Stop Repression of Iranian Working Class!” launched by the UID-DER is attracting great interest. Apart from workers, the campaign is supported by trade-union leaders and officials, intellectuals, artists, scholars, representatives of those parties and associations that are sympathetic to labour cause.
(15.02.2012) Repression of Iranian workers is stepped up. Apart from the deterioration of living and working conditions of workers, they are banned from union and political activity. The workers who attempt to get organised, found unions and act in their own class interests, especially the leading workers, are subjected to heavy repression.
(26.12.2011) We have received your 12,000 signatures. Thank you very much. We are eternally grateful for your warm and wonderful efforts. We will strive hard to stop all nuclear power plants in Japan as soon as possible. Also, we are determined to surely prevent the nuclear power plant export to Turkey.
(07.12.2011) Today we've received your 2nd package of anti-nuclear power plants of 3797 signatutes.
We'll immediately forward these precious signatures to our colleagues fighting in Fukushima.
Thanks again for your tremendous endeavor!
(15.10.2011) Prime Minister and the AKP government tell us that we should be happy: Because Turkish economy is growing. Turkish economy is the second fastest growing economy after China. Well done! What does this economic growth cost? What do workers get from it? All worker friends should ask themselves these questions?
(07.11.2011) Hundreds of people were killed, thousands injured and many more left homeless in the wake of the earthquake in Van and Ercis. As UID-DER we launched a solidarity campaign after the quake with the slogan “Forge Workers’ Solidarity with the people of Van!” During the campaign we witnessed once again that despite all racist incitements there is no hostility between Turkish and Kurdish toilers.
(04.11.2011) Dear friends of UID-DER,
We'd like to express our many thanks for your encouraging solidarity message to the coming November 6 International Workers' Solidarity Rally.
We'll distribute its Japanese translation to all the participant of the rally.
(03.11.2011) It is a must for all workers around the world to get united against this criminal capitalist order and its bloody policies like the ones that promote nuclear power and weapons. Here in Turkey we are trying to raise the consciousness of workers and organize them to fight capitalism and its nuclear policies.
(31.10.2011) Van and Ercis were severely struck by a 7.2 magnitude earthquake on October 23 causing an enormous devastation. The number of people who lost their lives is already more than 600 and it is unfortunately expected to rise. And there are more than 4000 injured.
(25.10.2011) Van downtown and Ercis, a near town in the province Van, were rocked by a 7.2 magnitude earthquake on October 23 at midday hours, resulting in more than 600 death and more than 4000 injured so far. There are many people who are still under the rubble. Van is mainly a Kurdish town and the area is intensely populated by poor Kurdish people.
You are waging an honourable struggle, expressing the feelings of the working class all over the world. As UID-DER (The Association of International Workers’ Solidarity) from Turkey we extend our hands of solidarity to you. We completely share your sorrow and support your struggle.
(18.10.2011) Dear friends of UID-DER, Just now we've received your valuable signatures of 12,000. We have no words to thank you! Fukushima mothers will start sit-in in front of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry from Oct. 27, demanding to shut down all nuclear power plants immediately.
Struggle for more democracy still continues. With the call of several organizations, thousands gathered at Kadikoy on 11th of September to protest remaining legal inheritance of the coup, as well as to call for getting the putschist judged.
Appeal of Association of International Workers’ Solidarity (UID-DER)
(20.07.2011) In Japan almost 30 thousand people lost their lives due to the earthquake on 11 March and the subsequent tsunami. And the radioactive material released from the nuclear power plant Fukushima Daiichi has been threatening whole life throughout the country beginning with the region the power station located.
(09.04.2011) Our dear class brothers/sisters, as your class brothers/sisters in Turkey, we share your suffering and your completely justified anger against capitalist system which is responsible for the series of disasters in Japan. Added to the disaster caused by insufficient precautions against tsunami, now there is the nuclear disaster.
(15.02.2011) As your class brothers/sisters in Turkey we sincerely and enthusiastically salute your revolt against Mubarak dictatorship, which you have been carrying on for many days in great persistence and resolve. This revolt started by our Tunisian class brothers/sisters and carried further by you, raising the flag higher, scares the exploiters all over the world. But on the part of exploited masses it strengthens the faith that “we can”, strengthens the spirit of resistance, refreshes self-confidence.
(15.12.2010) Brother and sister workers, we are struggling to get by on a net minimum wage of 599 liras. Every year, in the run-up to December, the question of the amount of upcoming increase on minimum wage comes to the fore. Millions of workers and their families hope that there would be an adequate increase to meet decent standards. But the minimum wage never reaches even to a level which would be enough to meet the minimum needs of a working class family.
(15.12.2010) Who are they, banning headscarf for students and public employees, ignoring the demands of Alevis and prohibiting use of Kurdish? Who are they, maintaining these bans against persistent demands of diverse sections of society, using paranoid excuses such as “secularism”, “separation”, “Sharia”? We know them. They are the parties of capital with different names, such as AKP, CHP, MHP.
The Future of Democracy Can Not Be Left To Capitalist Governments!
(15.10.2010) Echoes of 12 September Constitutional Referendum are still alive as the debate continues. Undoubtedly, the majority of the working masses showed their will for change. This is a clear fact independent from the intentions of the ruling AKP (Justice and Development Party) and capitalists.
