Iranian Workers’ Solidarity Network
The latest statement issued by the Behnam Ebrahimzadeh Defence Committee describes Behnam’s situation on the eleventh day of his hunger strike.
Behnam Ebrahimzadeh, a member of the Committee to Pursue the Establishment of Workers’ Organisations, began his latest hunger strike on December 3. On the eleventh day of his hunger strike, December 14, Behnam was transferred to the prison infirmary because of his deteriorating condition.
When he was examined by the doctor, his blood pressure was found to be below 6. This was then used to justify having him on a drip. After Behnam refused he was returned to ward number 1 of Gohardasht prison without receiving any treatment.
In order to defend his rights Behnam Ebrahimzadeh has had to go on hunger strike a number of times, including August 2014.
Iranian Workers’ Solidarity Network condemns the Iranian regime’s imprisonment of labour activists like Behnam Ebrahimzadeh and demands the immediate and unconditional release of all labour activists and workers.
