May Day Massage From American Federation of Teachers
Dear Friends and Comrades,
Working people and all of our allied organizations and individuals who are struggling for peace, racial equity, social and economic justice join you with our hearts, minds and actions in the streets on May Day 2021, the most important holiday of all the People on earth.
In every language and every country on the planet, we know and live by the words that working people united locally and internationally cannot be divided and pitted against one another in wars, economic oppression, racial, national, ideological or religious prejudices. We know that the greatest threats to human survival, peace and progress must be solved on a global basis through mutual respect among nations committed to peace and racial equality, social and economic justice, and the unwavering policy and practice of solving international disputes through just, good-faith negotiations--not wars, threats of wars or economic terrorism that punishes the people.
In solidarity and with love and respect,
Rodger Scott (Past President of American Federation of Teachers, Local 2121Current Delegate of AFT 2121 to the San Francisco Labor Council)
