UID-DER’s Solidarity Message to RMT and Striking Rail Workers in UK

Dear class brothers/sisters,

As a workers’ organisation active in Turkey we, UID-DER (Uluslararası İşçi Dayanışması Derneği - Association of International Workers Solidarity), hail your strike against the assault on your jobs, working conditions and pensions. We are wholeheartedly in solidarity with you. You are not alone!

We are aware of the fact that neither this assault nor your struggle is accidental. In essence this assault by capital is common. It is everywhere, as in Turkey. In our view it needs to be resisted the same way you're doing. We hope your struggle will bring positive consequences in the UK and elsewhere. It’s a good sign that in general your strike action was met positively by the public.
